Thesis excerpt: “I want to invite people, invite them in to a quiet and friendly space where they can escape the reality and hectic monotony of daily life, and embrace the reality of being human. Creating an existential room between the viewer and the work, a room that emerges as soon as the work is looked at, and retreats to the background just as easily. A space for contemplation. Not a dedicated place where people have to deliberately decide to go, but a work that lovingly forces the viewer to contemplate, meditate. To let the work be a room, to have the work not need a room.”
